Portfolio, the outdoor room

On Location

Your dog already has a place where they are most themselves. An on location session goes there.

Robert shoots on San Francisco beaches, in parks, along trails and through vineyards, with Golden Gate Bridge backdrops when the light and the fog cooperate. In his own words, “Location work can be anywhere in the SF Bay area, and beyond.” The session is tailored to your dog's personality and your vision, so a dog who sprints gets room to sprint and a dog who sits like a monument gets a monument's patience.

You can be in the pictures too. Robert's answer to that question is “Absolutely!” Prefer a plain grey or black ground and no weather? The Napa studio is the other room.

From the contact sheet

Cliffs, grass and a long forest trail.

Not every dog wants the beach. Some belong on a bluff above the ocean, some in tall grass, some on a trail where the light comes down in strips.

Frames one to four: bluff, cliff, trail, lawn. Same photographer, same patience, a different room each time.

“The photos are really nice, heartwarming and hilarious.”

Hilarious is allowed. Robert works with the dog he has, not the dog in the brochure, and if the dog is a clown the picture will say so. Two dogs dancing on their hind legs on a sunny lawn is a session too.

Pick the place. Bring the dog.

Pricing, products and procedure start with a conversation. Tell Robert about your dog and where they love to be. See how the full photography service works, or look at the studio portraits on black and grey.
